This Mom Was Told To Cover Up Or Else They Will Not Let Her On The Plane

Published on 01/03/2021

This mom had been traveling for a long time, but she had never been treated in such an aggressive manner before. She only wanted to go back to her children when she had a very unpleasant surprise.

The Unpleasant Surprise

This woman was denied her flight when she came to her gate, ready to get home finally! They even had to remove her from the plane forcibly… And the whole thing was because of her clothes.

Taking A Holiday

Harriet Osborne was a 31-year-old woman who had just had a well-deserved vacation in southern Spain with her friends for some fresh air, sun, and relaxation. To get some peace of mind, she took time off from her hectic life.

Break From Reality

Back at home in England, she worked as a makeup artist and needed a break from the stress of juggling work while raising her kids. She needed to cleanse her mind desperately and get some sun, and this was the perfect opportunity.

Vacation Attire

Harriet feels that wearing clothing that reveals her body in front of her kids would be irresponsible. However, she wanted to dress more freely while on vacation. She was on a break, so she felt spontaneous.

Letting Loose

She spent the whole vacation carefree. Walking in nothing but a bikini around the beaches without the worry of being judged. She had no idea that her trip would turn out the way it did.

However, she was ready to go home to England by the end of her stay after being away for some time. She was thrilled to return home as soon as possible, armed with gifts for her loved ones.

A Breather

In a place far away from her home, she had a great time enjoying some freedom. She took in the beautiful beaches and worked on her tan under the sun. It was a perfect, much-needed place to unwind.

Sea And Sun

The beach in southern Spain is always full of British tourists, and it’s not difficult to see why this tropical paradise got its name. Malaga is located on the Costa del Sol, which literally means ‘coast of the sun.’

Something Missing

Harriet was able to have a relaxing day on the beach with her best friends for the first time in a long time. Still, it felt like something had been missing the whole time she was there.

Far From Home

Since it is basically the opposite of the UK, this was the perfect vacation spot. Their seasons are different, and she was able to escape from Britain’s cold winter and head toward the hot sun. Instead of the UK’s grey, she could enjoy the blue skies, and she could easily lay on the sand for hours, something she couldn’t do in the UK.

Their Last Day

She knew the vacation was coming to an end and that she would have to go back to Britain soon. She was thrilled to be reunited with her children, and her bags were already packed. But she wanted to have one final shopping spree before they went home.

Pampering Herself

Along with her friends, she took a taxi and went to Av. De Andalucia to visit the high-end fashion stores there. There, the fashion selections dazzled her so much, but she had no clue that it would be the worst day of her life.

Her First Mistake

They stopped at El Corte Ingles, where she saw an awesome top in the display window. It was a sheer blouse, but her eyes popped in disbelief when she saw how much that was.

Encouragement

She was flustered with what she had seen and decided to drop it. A girlfriend of hers told her, however, to at least try it on. How could she, at this point, even resist! Especially if her friend insisted on doing so.

No Harm

Her friends reminded her of the fact that they were on vacation. There’s nothing wrong with trying out new blouses. What harm could it really do? Harriet picked it up and brought it to the changing room.

Match Made In Heaven

She was surprised when she saw herself in the mirror. It was stunning on her, and it would be hard to forget. She had put it on her card, but she didn’t know it would be a topic of concern.

She Regrets It

She tried to forget all about how much the impulsive buying cost her with her bag in hand. Before leaving for the airport, Harried and her buddies had a final lunch in Spain. She did a final survey of the hotel room before the checkout.

That was when the designer bag she discovered was staring at from the spot she left: a chair in the corner. She was overcome with a wave of nausea. Why did she buy it?

Impulse Decisions

She would have to bear the consequences for what she did.  Her impulse decision was the reason that she would be unable to fly that night. Next time, I believe she’ll give her decisions some more thought. But what has occurred?

A Feminist

She was a feminist, and she thought that ladies should have the freedom to wear whatever they wanted. It was not an invitation to unwanted attention and catcalls. Why were men able to wear anything they wanted, but what she wore would cause so much trouble?

Unexpected Reaction

She didn’t play with fire when she was at a club or party on her own. Not once did she think something like this would happen. She was shopping with her friends, and then she had the shock of her life.

Anyhow, she did buy it. There was no going back for her this time. She felt spontaneous and took the blouse out of the bag. She put the top back on and was pleased with how well her tan showed through on it.

No Judgement Zone

She was on vacation. In a foreign country where people did not even know her, she did not have any reason to be self-conscious. At least that was what she had in mind, but what happened was the exact opposite.

With the top taped in the places that it needed to be, she felt confident. She was determined to make the best out of it. She was at the airport at the allotted time, and she checked in her luggage.

She went to the duty-free store and had her friends and family receive even more gifts. Finally, through the speakers, she heard the flight announcement. Let’s see what she had in store when she was trying to board her plane…

As she approached the airport lounge, she saw all the families with their children, and she couldn’t help but feel sad. The good thing was that soon enough, she would finally be with her children.

A flight attendant looked at her passport, wished her a pleasant flight, and waved her down the tunnel. She was on her way until the moment she got to the airplane door. Something happened then that she could never have expected.

Denied Entry

At the door, an air hostess was standing. As they got on the plane, she greeted the passengers warmly. Her facial expression suddenly changed upon seeing Harriet. She was at a loss for words.

Ignored It

This treatment shocked Harriet. It wasn’t as though she had done anything to offend the other woman. They may have just mistaken her for somebody else. She shrugged it off and went in, only for the same woman to stop her.

What Was Wrong?

The rest of the flight attendants were approached by the stewardess. They began using hushed tones to talk to each other. What could be happening here? As the minutes ticked by, Harriet began to feel fear blossoming in her chest.

The person who stopped her walked over to tell her what the problem was. As she pondered what they might be discussing, a million thoughts ran through Harriet’s mind. What Harriet heard made her feel incredulous.

Mistaken Identity

Harriet didn’t realize what she did wrong. She was certain that the woman was mistaken in identifying her as someone else. She waited for the flight attendant to speak to her. Meanwhile, her heart was racing.

Access Denied

Harriet was told, “You’re not coming on my plane like that — you need to put a top on.” After that, the flight attendant, using her hands, tried to cover her up. Harriet was aware it was a rather revealing top, but she made sure to tape it for the sake of modesty. So why was that happening to her?

The Issue

The stewardess told her that she received complaints about how inappropriate the top was from other passengers. Bear in mind that at that time, Harriet had yet to board the plane. The way this stewardess talked to her annoyed her.

Right there and then, she began arguing with the flight attendant. She was humiliated and had no intention of giving in. Harriet finally gave in when she noticed that the woman wouldn’t move.

But How?

This was not necessarily the perception of Harriet. She figured it was the flight attendants who had the problem. She hadn’t even stepped on a plane that could have caused her offense or made anyone uncomfortable.

Embarrassed

She was irritated and felt ridiculed. Why were these individuals entitled to tell her what she could and couldn’t wear? All she wanted was to get home to her children, so she grabbed a sweater from her bag instead of fighting to prove herself.

As one might imagine, Harriet was ashamed and embarrassed to be publicly singled out like that. As she walked over to her seat, all eyes were on her, and it could not be missed.

She was trying to console herself by saying that at least she did it on the plane. Soon enough, she could forget it had happened. She was almost back with her family, and that was all that mattered to her.

Telling Her Off

It was then that she raised her voice. Harriet informed the stewardess that what happened made her feel cheap and mortified. Like everybody else on the plane, she paid for a ticket, so she had no idea why she was singled out for her clothes. Besides, none of the other employees had a problem with it.

The airport staff huddled together once more and began whispering. It only made Harriet feel more concerned about it. This time, what could be the problem? As requested, she had already covered up. Then they said something to her that blew her away.

Harriet didn’t understand where this was all coming from. First, if there was an issue with her outfit, why didn’t someone mention it at the airport? She was tired of feeling guilty and was starting to worry.

The Last Straw

She had been told she needed to get out of the airplane. Harriet was distraught and even more appalled by this. It meant that she would have no place to rest and would waste the ticket she paid for.

Harriet had to be removed from the airplane by security after the conversation began to heat up. She had no option but to spend the night at the airport, basically wasting her $200 ticket.

She said in one interview, “I just burst out crying.” She then noticed the police officers coming her way. They said that Harriet got kicked out after she was disruptive on the plane. That can’t be good.

The pilot also got involved. She watched as he spoke with the head stewardess and kept looking at Harriet. She was forced to leave the flight after the two spoke. Harriet had the feeling of being in a nightmare.

It was a good thing that the police officers saw her side of the story. They all agreed that, in the first place, she should not have gotten booted. Still, regarding her ticket, nothing had to be done.
