Stressed Snake
Being too hot is something snakes can’t handle. Heat can trigger their hunger instinct, and if there’s no prey around, the snake can actually start eating itself!
Since snakes also have an instinct to keep prey in, an overheating snake won’t be able to stop once it starts biting and eventually will die from blood loss.
Mad Snake Disease
Recently, captive snakes were diagnosed with the relatively new Inclusion Body Disease – IBD. This makes domestic boas and pythons tangle their bodies to death.
This virus was said to come from infected rodents that they eat.
