The man behind the mask, Chris Benoit, had a lengthy and successful wrestling career spanning 22 years. Benoit was “one of the top 10, maybe even the top 5, all-time greats.” according to industry journalist Dave Meltzer. Benoit won 22 championships, including numerous world belts, and headlined several WWE pay-per-view events. He was still at the pinnacle of his career when his life abruptly ended.

Mr. America

Hulk Hogan is a legend, yet before WrestleMania XIX, he wore a mask. Mr. America was his ring name at the time. However, he was more popular when he didn’t wear the mask, so he removed it. He is largely regarded as the most well-known wrestler in the world, and possibly the most popular wrestler of the 1980s. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, once in 2005 and again in 2020. Even while still wrestling, he began his vast acting career. He appeared in a number of films and television shows, as well as advertisements and a video game. He also dabbled in music, fronting the band The Wrestling Boot Band.
