Celine tries not to get too involved in politics. However, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the singer went on Larry King Live and shared her views. She pointed out how slow the government was in responding to the needs of the victims of the hurricane. She said, “There are people still there waiting to be rescued. To me, that is not acceptable … How can it be so easy to send planes in another country to kill everybody in a second and destroy lives. We need to serve our country.”
