It took them a year and a half before it was ready for habitation. The Gaines family started to live in the renovated farmhouse in October 2013.

Joanna wanted to keep the charm and character of the old farmhouse, so this was a major consideration during the process. It is also the reason they decided to add only one structure. They created an extension for the master bedroom. This did not mean that Joanna was going to stop adding the perfect fixtures and fittings to turn the farmhouse into the house of her dreams, however!

They did not make a lot of changes to the exterior of the building. It looked just as classic and charming as it used to, perhaps even more so when they finished adding the gorgeous white finish that suited the wooden beams. The oak trees, which initially got their attention, only added to the atmosphere.
