Grace Barnett Wing
Sometimes called Grace Slick, back in the ’60s, this singer was a central player in San Francisco’s psychedelic music scene. She even passed through “Gracie” and “The Chrome Nun.” She has since withdrawn, but while she was still involved in the scene, she performed hardback. Many people recall her Wonderful Society, Jefferson Starship, and Jefferson Airplane appearances. Hit songs such as “White Rabbit,” “We Built This City,” “Someone to Love,” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” the talented woman also published.
Kim Carnes
Due to her raspy voice, there was a time when Kim Carnes was compared to Rod Stewart. She took the music scene to Stork in 1980, after Kenny Rogers hired her to write “Gideon” with him. “They also had a duet known as “Don’t Fall in Love with a Dreamer.” The song rose to the Billboard Hot 100’s fourth spot. Aside from that, for that performance, the duo also got a Grammy nomination. Her “Mistaken Identity” album with the song “Bette Davis Eyes” is worth listening to.
