He had been in the kitchen when they finally hang up. You can imagine just how surprised he was when the lights started to flicker! He started to breathe rapidly as a way to control the panic that bloomed in his chest. The lights kept flickering on and off for a little while until they went dark at last.

He walked to where the switch was located in the room. Nothing happened after he flicked it on and off. Not only that, but he also started to feel a chill that he could have sworn was not there before that. All of a sudden, a breeze hit him square in the face. It was a good thing that he was composed enough to remember the flashlight in his pocket. He took it out, turned it on, and pointed it at the thermostat.
