After the fall, Christopher was covered by leaves and mud. Of course, he was shocked by the sudden turn of events. He shook off the dirt and looked around. He felt a compulsion to check out if it was hiding any secrets.

We just sort of stumbled upon the gold mine one day and that was it. When I first saw it, I was so excited that I almost fell over myself. Back then, he had no idea that this was going to be the worst thing he could do. Anyway, he returned to the entrance with a flashlight in his hand. He had been holding his breath. As soon as he entered, he saw a sparkly object on the walls. But what on earth could it possibly be?

The walls seemed damp and felt like they might fall down at any moment now. As Christopher walked on, his footsteps rang out. He was thinking about all the soil pressing down on this structure. He wanted to keep exploring it for a long period of time. After all, he brought a flashlight with three backup batteries!

Despite the temperature outside the tunnel, it was cold and pretty damp on the inside. Christopher noticed that he was leaving indentations on the soil as he walked. Based on the look of the puddles, there must be a water source down there. This made him feel concerned because stagnant puddles in such places might mean there were dangerous gases present in the area.

Christopher looked at the path ahead of him by beaming the flashlight in a straight direction. After doing this, he was still unable to see where the tunnel ends. It was very likely that there was something – or someone – waiting for him down there. His suspicions only got stronger when he heard noises down the tunnel. AS he walked down the mine, he did not feel any warmth, light, or movement of air. He was holding onto his flashlight tightly. You can compare it to the way that a knight would hold his blade for a fight. The noise only got louder. Christopher was able to discern the sounds of old machinery and metal parts.

The most chilling part is that he started to hear voices. It was hard for him to identify the words, but he mustered enough courage to say, “Who’s there?” His echo was the only answer that he got. It was a good thing that his courage did not leave him. He was determined to get to the bottom of this!

The boots continued to dig into the soil as he went deeper down the tunnel. He noticed that there was a yellow ventilation system there, although it did not look like it was in good condition. All of a sudden, he felt strange. He was able to detect some sort of weird energy there. Something was pulling him back and telling him that he should not be there at all. “When we went to ask about the place, we were finally told that the estate had actually been home to quite a lot of mining sites. A lot of mining was done in these hills at the turn of the century, and there are a lot of little mines that are scattered across the hills,” he narrated. While he felt better after getting in touch with the realtor, he tensed up again in no time at all. He said, “This cannot be happening!”

He had been in the kitchen when they finally hang up. You can imagine just how surprised he was when the lights started to flicker! He started to breathe rapidly as a way to control the panic that bloomed in his chest. The lights kept flickering on and off for a little while until they went dark at last.

He walked to where the switch was located in the room. Nothing happened after he flicked it on and off. Mr. Rudall told Christopher that this was a gold mine from a long time ago. After checking out the walls, it was clear that it had stayed intact for the most part. He was able to muster up his courage to investigate the tunnel some more. Two things dominated his thoughts. First of all, there might be gold down there. On the other hand, it might be haunted. During his first trek into the mine, he only managed to reach 150 feet deep. If he wanted to figure out what was going on here, he would have to keep going. As soon as he noticed this, he opened his eyes and ran for his car!

The developers who got the property attempted to get in touch with him, although he never called them back. His mother had been the one to act on his behalf in order to sell it. They contacted two archaeologists to come to the stream to check out the object. It was clear that they would have to conduct a scientific investigation to get to the bottom of things.
