She refused to give Donald her phone number because he was there on a different date. Being the self-assured and ambitious man that he is, Donald persisted. Finally, Melania gave him her number instead of giving him hers.

Childhood acquaintances of Melania claimed to “The New York Times” that Melania’s father is likewise a “larger-than-life personality,” much like Donald. Viktor Knavs, her father, handled automobile and motorcycle dealerships for a state-owned firm and was a member of the Communist Party, which the Times called “an exclusive club whose members sometimes joined because of career ambitions as much as ideology.” Another detail about her father that her childhood pals revealed was also reported in the Times: “He carries himself “in a self-assured style that now reminded them of Mr. Trump,” they said.
