Discovery
While you can make fascinating discoveries in your basement, there are certain things you do not want to find. Pat and Diane Farla had been living in an old Victorian house when they decided it was time to solve a mystery on their property. After some wine, they went to check out the grate in the basement.
Persecuted Catholics
They took off the iron grille and saw a hole big enough for a small child to go through. In there, they discovered a cellar that seemed like a chapel! Historians helped them date it back to the 1700s. Their theory was that it was a Catholic Church used when Catholics were getting executed and persecuted.
