Her Real Big Break
In 1983, one of Reba’s songs had reached the top spot of the Billboard charts. It started when she released her fifth album called Unlimited. She was not satisfied with the lack of creative control over her work and pushed her to produce country-pop ballads, which was when she decided to leave Mercury. However, she accepted a contract with MCA Nashville Records and made her album titled Just a Little Love in the following year.
At Long Last
Reba was not satisfied with her career path, but she was lucky when an opportunity knocked on her door. She had full creative control in her newly released album of songs called My Kind of Country. It had two songs which made it into the Billboard No. 1 hits. The critics adored her songs and made her happy with her music career.
