‘It’ (2017)
Domestic Gross: $327.5 million
With a gross of $327 million, 2017’s “It” became the highest-grossing horror film in history, independent of MPAA ranking. “It” was a hit for both viewers and reviewers, and it quickly became the highest-grossing film based on a Stephen King novel, which has a lengthy list of films. It’ll just be a matter of time before we see whether the pre-planned sequel, which is set to reach theaters in 2019, will match the success of the original.
