Apple farmers from China were found to be wrapping sacks of white chemical powder on apple trees so that insects would directly come into contact with pesticides. In fact, they put so much of the powder, that the workers had to wear face masks and gloves to prevent direct contact with the said chemicals. In case you didn’t know, only 2 out of 10 apples in the local market came from local farms.
