Police were informed of alleged plastic rice after receiving two complaints about it. As the police confiscated the rice from a shop in Meerpet, they took samples and had them tested. Meanwhile, there were rumors on the internet that the plastic rice was being sold to various stores in Andhra Pradesh, which obviously caused panic.
