Clean Cutting Boards With Vinegar
After each usage, disinfect and sanitize your wood cutting boards or butcher block countertop with full-strength white vinegar. The vinegar’s acetic acid functions as a disinfectant, killing microorganisms such as E. coli. Because Staphylococcus, Salmonella Water, and dishwashing detergent might degrade the surface wood fibers, they should never be used. Sprinkle baking soda on your wooden cutting surface and then spritz it with undiluted white vinegar to deodorize and disinfect it. Allow 5–10 minutes for foaming and bubbling before washing with a clean, cold towel.
