Not long after the new royal couple married, they began welcoming the successor to the kingdom. Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth, and Prince Philip’s first child were born in 1948. Princess Anne, the royal family’s first child, was born just one year later. Elizabeth and Phillip decided not to have any more children until ten years later. As a result, the royal couple welcomed another son, Prince Andrew, in 1960. Many people assumed The Queen and Charles had had their last child, but then The Queen gave birth to another Prince, Edward.

Prince Charles

Phillip, Charles Arthur George, the eldest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, was born in November 1948. As a child, Charles went to school rather than having a private tutor, as had been the royal habit up to that point. He received a Master of Arts degree from Cambridge University when he was 27 years old. Before this, Charles was crowned Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester in an official ceremony by his mother.
