In the murky water, the muddy chair… It’s completely moss-covered… It’s quite haunting when you think about it. Again, our minds wander to the various scenarios that could have resulted in this chair being thrown into the canal in the first place. Is it possible that it was a heated discussion? As the water is slowly drained into the Seine, workers must spend hours ensuring that everything goes according to plan. There’s a lot to do, from relocating fish entangled in the canal to completely renovating the canal’s four double locks. Any worn-out small parts must, of course, be replaced. The entire procedure would take about three months from start to finish.
