Mr. Rudall told Christopher that this was a gold mine from a long time ago. After checking out the walls, it was clear that it had stayed intact for the most part. This must have meant that the miners were unable to finish their job. But why on earth would they leave and abandon a mine like this one?

Mr. Rudall told him that there were a lot of rumors about mines from the turn of the century. Even so, he was not aware that there was a gold mine in this property. What kind of stuff would make miners leave a gold mine with everything intact? Sadly, everything that came to his mind sounded very bad.
