While the minutes passed, Sophie’s mother remained in bed sleeping. The TV was on, and Sophie started watching her typical morning program. But gradually she felt a rumbling in her stomach. What kept her mother from getting up and dancing in the kitchen? She then made the decision to check on her once again.

Trying To Wake Her
The door of her mother’s bedroom was cautiously opened by Sophie. “Mom?”, she enquired anxiously. Is your mother awake yet? I’m hungry,” she said, but there was no reply. She cautiously approached the bed and got up on top. She again called out, “Mommy,” and shook her mother’s shoulders. She was now starting to worry a lot.
