Janice Rand – Grace Lee Whitney
Yeoman Janice Rand played Captain James T. Kirk’s personal assistant who appeared in just 8 of the first 13 episodes of Star Trek. After her contract ended in 1996, fans immediately began to question the reasoning behind it all. However, her career was far from over. Whitney was still determined to keep going and consequently starred in various movies and TV shows. In 1998 she also released an autobiography called, The Longest Trek: My Tour of the Galaxy. Sadly, in 2015, Whitney passed away at the age of 85.

Kira Nerys – Nana Visitor
Nana Visitor is an American actress, who is famous for playing Kira Nerys in the TV series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine between 1993 and 1999. The 64-year-old mother of two also attempted to try out other projects once her role on Star Trek ended. These roles were on Ted 2, Family Guy, CSI, and Fraiser. Did you know that Nana is claustrophobic which really affected her while she was on the set of Star Trek, especially when she needed to wear certain props?
