Char Siu

In China, the term fork-roasted is called “Char siu,” but in daily conversation, the term usually refers to grilled meat, often times pork. The dish is made by marinating a pig in a sweet and salty sauce and then chopping it into thin strips. If you want to try it, then you’d have to head to southern China, where sweet dishes are a lot more common. While you can easily prepare this at home, we believe that the best char siu can only be found in China.
