Ceiling Pushing the Wall
The reason the scaffolding was so important for the project is that the manor was in bad shape. The front wall of the house was reaching the end of its days. In fact, you can see in the photo that the bay window up front was in terrible shape. It looked like it would be toppling over at any moment. So the scaffolding was a way to keep things in place while the group mended the structure.

All this also possibly meant that the sandstone wall could collapse at any moment too. It was a scary ordeal for two twenty-something-year-olds to handle. It’s a good thing they had an entire crew of their friends to help them out. At first, the crew thought this was related to the fact that the house was slowly sinking. However, after working on it for a while, they found out that the house’s timbers were pushing it out.
