Hand Grenade
As they were cleaning the garage of their grandmother, this mother and son discovered an unexploded hand grenade. The military had to come in to take care of it. They saw that it did not have a fuse nor explosives. The late 91-year-old woman was married to a WWII soldier. Since the grenade still came with a pin, the Australian military had to evacuate the area while they took a look at it.

It is not every day that you learn that the previous homeowner was a secret agent. This “unassuming” elderly lady was actually a spy! The new family found out about it after seeing spy-related things in the house. There was a machine gun, confidential photos of Berlin during WWII, and telegrams from the War Office and Secret Service. She was Eileen Burgoyne and died at the age of 9. She was a shadow agent who worked in Gibraltar, Spain, Africa, and Germany. She also worked during the Cold War.
